Africa, Community, and Empire: Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan Looking to Bring The Story of Mansa Musa to Life @balleralert Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan Looking to Bring The Story of Mansa Musa to Life-blogged by @thereal__bee ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ With the success of their first three projects: “Fruitvale Station,” “Creed” and “Black Panther”, super Director Ryan Coogler and Hollywood Star Michael B. Jordan are already teaming up for more projects. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ According to multiple reports, the duo is now looking to start a project centered around the life of Mansa Musa. Both Coogler and Jordan feel it is important to create influential films that reflect the Black community and the contributions that have been made throughout history. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ “You got to tell stories in today, or in the future,” says Jordan. “Or can we go back even further? There’s always one period that people want to go back to, but can we go back to Hannibal? Or Mansa Musa, destroying economies as he traveled? Can we go back to the Egyptians?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Mansa Musa was an influential African ruler in the fourteenth century. He was emperor of the Mali Empire, a land filled with gold, which he casually handed out during his religious expedition to Mecca, ultimately causing economic crises to cities that were unfamiliar with such wealth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ In 1324, Musa became the first Muslim ruler to trek almost four-thousand-miles. During his travels, he encountered rulers of the Middle East and Europe, which helped to put Mali on European maps. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ He helped improve Islamic education and he also brought back government bureaucrats and architects. With the development of mosques and a major university, the city of Timbuktu became more urbanized. Musa ruled for 25 years and during that time, Western Africa was said to be at peace. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ While there is no word on when this project will take off, the duo is already in pre-production for another film titled “Wrong Answer,” about a 2006 standardized testing scandal in Atlanta. The sequel to “Creed” is also on the way.

America, Friday, and Guns: SO HOW ABOUT EVERY BLACH MAN IN AMERICA GOES OUT TOMORROW AND BUYS AND AR-15 ASSAULT WEAPON. THEY'LL BE BANNED BY FRIDAY WORD!! TRUTH 💯 Repost @kendrick38: On the anniversary of the death of the Revolutionary MalcolmX, I figured I’d give a little radical proposal. 🤓😏✊🏽🖤 It wouldn’t be the first time. BlackHistoryMonth Lesson: “The Mulford Act was a 1967 California bill that repealed a law allowing public carrying of loaded firearms. Named after Republican assemblyman Don Mulford, the bill was crafted in response to members of the BlackPanther Party who were conducting armed patrols of Oakland neighborhoods while they were conducting what would later be termed copwatching.[1] They garnered national attention after the Black Panthers marched bearing arms upon the California State Capitol to protest the bill. AB-1591 was authored by Don Mulford (R) from Oakland, John T. Knox (D) from Richmond, Walter J. Karabian (D) from Monterey Park, Alan Sieroty (D) from Los Angeles, and William M. Ketchum (R) from Bakersfield,[5] it passed both Assembly (controlled by Democrats 42:38) and Senate (split 20:20) and was signed by Governor Ronald Reagan on July 28. The law banned the carrying of loaded weapons in public. [6] Both Republicans and Democrats in California supported increased gun control. Governor Ronald Reagan was present when the protesters arrived and later commented that he saw "no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons" and that guns were a "ridiculous way to solve problems that have to be solved among people of good will." “ BlackPanther GunControl Bipartisan GunReformNow

Ass, Bitch, and Bruh: When you at the doctor gettin a physical and he go to grab ya balls bruh if you get a physical and your doctor is a female, it’s the worst. Lemme set the scene for y’all. 5th grade, a young nigga is playing football every weekend after school. My team was the Vikings and our quarterback was some ass, so we were a pretty good representation of the NFL team. Anyway I needed to submit a physical before practices began. So my mom swerve up to a doctors to get a physical. Whole time during the car ride I’m thinking: “Wow, some random ass nigga is gon fondle my ballsack.” Luckily and sadly that wasn’t the case. So I get called in to go next and we walk back to the doctors room. The doctor inside the room is a 30 year old white dude so I’m like, “Ay no homo.” “Huh?” He goes. “I just had to say that before we begin.” They do the standard heart beat and ear checks and shit right. Then all of sudden the doctor says, “Mom, if you’d like to step out, another doctor will be in to do the rest.” So now I’m hyperventilating like fucking spongebob cause I thought ol dude was the one who was gon fondle me word to my uncle. But nah that wasn’t the case. So I’m sitting in the room by myself waiting for this other doctor to come in when the door opens. Ight so when I say this bitch was a pornstar in the making, I’m not exaggerating 🚫🧢 . Her face was a 9 and her body an 11 word to George Bush. And her fucking white coat was open just enough to see her cleavage word to sedimentary rocks. “Hi!” she says. “Go ahead and drop your pants for me and we can begin.” So me being me, I drop my pants and stand there in my underwear like a dumbass. She laughs at me and my ears get hot. “Those too.” She said. So slowly I drop my shit right, and now she gets on her knees in front of me. BOYYYYYYYY do you know how difficult it is to make your dick soft again when it hard? So she puts on gloves and grabs my nuts like it’s a fucking bowl of popcorn. “Look right and cough for me.” I tried to cough but I whimpered instead 💀 i was focusing so hard on NOT being hard. It was like my dick was a metalloid. Anyway she released her grip and I finally started breathing again. I pulled my pants up so fucking fast. Anyway moral of the story is, Naruto is stronger than Goku

Community, Fall, and Feminism: Cardi B Touches on Feminism in Recent Interview: "Anything a Man Can Do, I Can Do'" @balleralert Cardi B Touches on Feminism in Recent Interview: “Anything a Man Can Do, I Can Do” - blogged by: @ashleytearra ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In such a superficial, male-dominated industry, CardiB doesn’t fall victim to riding the wave that she’s “expected” to ride. Instead, she has unapologetically crafted her own, with no-holds-barred. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not only a rapper but a woman, too, the Bronx native certainly has faced many challenges. However, she continues to prevail, time and time again—living loudly and proudly—despite those who consistently fight so hard to bring her to silence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When it’s all said and done, she’s just a “regular, degular, shmegular” girl, from the streets of NY, who decided to go for it… and won. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She’s simply Cardi—no more, no less—and she proved that in a recent sit-down with i-D Magazine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ During the candid interview, the 25-year-old opened up about her thoughts on feminism and how her stance in the culture is sometimes underestimated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Being a feminist is such a great thing, and some people feel like someone like me can’t be as great as that,” she says. “They think feminism is great and only a woman who can speak properly, who has a degree, who is a boss, a businessperson… they think only [someone like] Michelle Obama can be a feminist.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And, at a time where even the slightest mention of the word “feminism” still acts as a touchy topic amongst the millennial community, Cardi didn’t end it there. She spoke her mind and spoke it truthfully. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “But, being a feminist is real simple; it’s that a woman can do things the same as a man. I’m equal to a n****. Anything a man can do, I can do,” she adds. “I can finesse, I can hustle. We have the same freedom. I was top of the charts. I’m a woman, and I did that. I do feel equal to a man.”
