EVANS CJR LIKE IF YOU WANT TOINCREASE PENALTIES FOR VETMEMORIAL VANDALS Florida Veterans ask lawmakers to increase penalties for Vet Memorial vandals. Did you know it’s worse to vandalize a public telephone than deface a Veterans’ monument in Florida? As one of the most populous states for veterans, Florida lawmakers are trying to correct that. Those that give their life for this country and pay the ultimate sacrifice should be respected and there should be more deference given to those than to a telephone booth. To my mind tightening of punishments for vandals must pass through the whole country, and not only in Florida, because in recent years America has been swept by a wave of vandalism. Vandals should be punished in the most severe way, they should get huge fines and solid prison terms. Veterans have done a lot for their country, and they do not deserve to be spit in the soul. veteranscomefirst veterans_us Veterans Usveterans veteransUSA SupportVeterans Politics USA America Patriots Gratitude HonorVets thankvets supportourtroops semperfi USMC USCG USAF Navy Army military godblessourmilitary soldier holdthegovernmentaccountable RememberEveryoneDeployed Usflag StarsandStripes

Memes, Presidential Election, and Subway: Women's March on Washington Turnout Higher than Donald Trump's Inauguration @balleralert EXH WOMEN Women's March on Washington Turnout Higher than Donald Trump's Inauguration - blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One day after the presidential inauguration, described as dark, doom and gloom, several thousand women filled the streets across the nation, to stand up for women's rights. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Women from all over the country traveled to Washington, D.C., to take part in a massive march, to express their disgust and disapproval of the new Head of State. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "We have put this man in the office who is a terrible role model, teaching people that bullies are acceptable and women are property,” said Kelly Hansen, who traveled from Boston, said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “It’s completely unacceptable,” she said. “It’s setting us back 50 years.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Women’s rights, health care, the nation ... It’s important to stand up for everything we still believe in,” said Anastasia Shawback, who hopped on a bus from Illinois. “My biggest concern is he’s putting people in place who don’t know what they’re doing.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Initially, organizers of the march expected a turnout of about 200,000. However, by Saturday morning, that number bumped up to 500,000, which was double the amount of people said to have attended Trump's inauguration. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although the official numbers have yet to be released for yesterday's main event, the city's subway system revealed there were 275,000 trips taken by 11 a.m. Saturday, compared to Friday's 193,000 trips. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, the government's inauguration Twitter account tweeted the Metro Stations were "at full capacity," reports state. The WomensMarch on Washington was not the only march going on today. Several men and women took the streets in multiple major cities across the country. Even celebrities joined the movement and marched for the cause. HillaryClinton, who lost to Trump, in the presidential election, took to Twitter to share a few words of encouragement for those participating in the movement. “Thanks for standing, speaking & marching for our values @womensmarch,” she tweeted. “Important as ever. I truly believe we're always Stronger Together. ballerificpolitics
