Fashion, Kanye, and Memes: Virgil Abloh Named Louis Vuitton's New Menswear Designer @balleralert Virgil Abloh Named Louis Vuitton’s New Menswear Designer -blogged by @peachkyss ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The founder of streetwear brand Off-White and Kanye West’s longtime creative director, Virgil Abloh, has been named Louis Vuitton’s New Menswear Designer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Abloh is the first African American artistic director, and one of the few black designers at the top of a French heritage house. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The designer expressed his excitement about the new position, saying, “I feel elated. This opportunity to think through what the next chapter of design and luxury will mean at a brand that represents the pinnacle of luxury was always a goal in my wildest dreams. And to show a younger generation that there is no one way anyone in this kind of position has to look is a fantastically modern spirit in which to start.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bringing Abloh onboard is going to bring a new look and vibe to the men’s collection. “Product is only one part of the luxury narrative,” he continued. “I want to use Louis Vuitton’s history with travel to really look at different cultures around the world to help make all our humanity visible. When creativity melds together with global issues, I believe you can bring the world together. Fashion on this level can really open eyes.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although Abloh has taken on a new position, he will continue to run Off-White, which he says is for his 17-year-old self. Louis Vuitton will represent who he is today at 37-years-old. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection will make its debut in June for Paris Men Fashion Week. Congratulations to Virgil Abloh on your new position!

Comfortable, Crazy, and Internet: IT'SNEVERTOO LATE TO START LIVING Are you living or just existing?🤔 It’s never too late to take action and start living life, the life you want and deserve.👇 - Here are a few ways you can start living your dream life today: ✔️Get honest about what you want from life. It’s scary to admit what you want to do and what you want from your life. You may want something that’s well outside of your comfort zone and even scares others in your life, but those dreams are in your heart and mind for a reason. Sit down and say it out loud. No matter how crazy it sounds, get real. 👀 ✔️Use the Internet to research your dream. (Yes, I’m serious!) We live in a time where information is readily available. If you own a smartphone or have access to the Internet, you can research what it would take to make your dream life a reality. You don’t have to guess, chances are someone has mapped out what you need to know. ✔️Put a plan together and take the first steps. If your dream life is going to become a reality, you’re going to need a plan. It’s amazing how many people “wing it” and end up failing. If you want to quit your job, you should have another job-business in your plan and an emergency fund. If you wish to lose weight, you should map out a healthy diet and exercise plan. You get the picture… ✔️Choose to live life every day. You can miss so much that life has to offer with the chaos and busyness of life. It’s easy to get caught in routines and what feels comfortable. The problem is that all anyone is guaranteed is this moment. It’s important to live each day as if it were the last because it very well may be. - I will ask you this one more time... Bad, Fail, and Goals: YOUR LIMITATIONS. F*ck that sh*t The only thing stopping you from reaching your goals and dreams are your limits. It’s when you meet your limits that you feel resistance and things you want seem harder to achieve. Whether it is fear, doubt, physical abilities or some other mental block, it can present a huge barrier to getting what you want. Unfortunately most people can’t work past their limits and give up. So how far you get in reaching your dreams is very dependent on how good you are at overcoming this obstacle. Fail to push past your limits and you’ll leave your dreams unrealized. - But don’t worry, I GOTCHA! Here are a few things you can do to say F*CK YOU to your limits: ✔️Find someone to help push you. ust that little bit of support encouraging you to keep going in the face of resistance can mean so much. Having someone on your side can counter-balance any negative thinking you might have. They can tell you to do more and push you into doing things outside of your comfort zone. ✔️Imagine reaching your next level. Working on your dreams or goals can take a lot of focus. Where you put that focus matters a lot. You might know where you are and where you were, but do you know where you need to go? Imagine that next level for reaching your dreams and take steps to get there. ✔️Inspire yourself to action. Find something that inspires you to reach your goals. Whether it is a video, quote or thought that inspires you to succeed, it should be something that fills you with passion and drive to get things done. Inspiration can be a powerful motivational tool. (One of my memes for example 😉) ✔️Work on your weaknesses. Where there are weaknesses, there are limits. Think about a marathon runner. They won’t be able to train very well for a marathon if they can’t find a good running stride or have bad nutrition. These are big areas of weakness that just makes training harder. Without correction, your weaknesses will limit how far you can take yourself. YOU’RE WELCOME! New also co-founded Pre-Health Dreamers in hopes of alleviating the barriers he has faced for future undocumented students pursuing their dreams in the health and sciences. . As an aspiring medical doctor who is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health at the School of Public Policy at Harvard University, New seeks to remedy the barriers that low-income and immigrant families of America face in accessing healthcare. His time volunteering with the homeless through the Suitcase Clinic and with Oakland’s low-income communities as a Healthy Ambassador of Mentoring in Medicine & Science exposed him to the stories of different communities, but also the struggles shared by all of them. .
