I assure you this is a standard interior door, usually only exterior doors are solid. You can see the inside of the cardboard though. This isn’t a real door, it’s a prop from a movie or TV set. it has a paper honeycomb for rigidity, and that’s how interior doors are made for modern construction in the USA. y'all have never kicked a hole in your bedroom door in a flurry of teenage hormonal rage and it shows If I kicked my bedroom door I’d more likely break my foot than the door. I always thought people punching through doors or shoving people through doors was just from the movies. Doors in my country are generally solid planks of wood, a polymer of sorts, or metal. American homes are made extremely cheaply and aren’t built to last. Steam from hot showers seeps into wall which are not treated to handle moisture, and mold grows in the walls. Almost every wall or floor is made out of plywood. Flimsy roofing that can withstand a run of the mill heavy storm, but not much more than that. Weak foundations that wouldn’t hold up at all if it weren’t for how light and plywood-y the overall house is. Not every American house is this shitty in all of these ways, but the vast majority of them are, and almost all of them have at least one of these problems. Even rich people’s homes. I remember my mom saying that she liked how the doors were solid wood, and little me was confused bc I thought all doors were made of wood do y'all,,,, not have stone walls,,,,? No we don’t, usually just plywood or plasterboard with wooden frames for support. If it is stone it’s usually just a “feature wall” that is made of the aforementioned materials but with a thin layer of stone glued on. Basically this but just with paint over the plasterboard, American houses (or at least new ones) are built to look nice but ware easily. why would anyone build something like that? didn’t the pig with the wood house get killed or something? don’t y'all learn from your childhood? I live in AZ and one of my exterior doors is Styrofoam. Literally Styrofoam with a flexible plastic plate over it. When I got out to look, this poor little guy was looking up and blinking at me. I notified Alberta fish and wildlife enforcement right away who came to rescue him. Miraculously, he was freed and had minimal injuries despite having hitched a ride from Airdrie to Calgary at highway speeds! Their biologist checked him over and gave him the good to go. They released him in Kananaskis. Clearly mother nature has other plans for this special little guy!-Georgie Knox FOOD CHAIN, BABYYYyYyy Plot-essential NPC. They didn't tell me union plumbers can make $1,600 a week with no OT and NO us DEGREE....or that truck drivers can make 6 bands a week if they buy their own truck w/NO DEGREE? I just finished high school and got a untility job in a factory and I have almost no experience. They’re gonna train me for everything plus it has full health benefits. Trades are fucking great. My husband is a welder, and is very very good at it. He got hired by a locksmith company pretty much just by walking in and going “Yes I can weld.” All of the other guys there were great at locksmithing, but none of them were trained welders, and they needed someone who could build custom doors and frames.  They trained him to do lock stuff too, so now he can weld AND pick locks.  The owner of the company, when he handed out Christmas bonuses, looked at him and went “Dude we literally cannot fire you because we’d be screwed so here’s your bonus and also we’re giving you a raise.” Welders are in desperate demand.  Blows kisses to this post. Benefits are shit if you’re in a trade with no union but the money can be really good There are construction projects here in Portland, OR that sit around taking months and months longer than they need to because there aren’t enough trades people for all the projects.  It’s interesting to drive past the same apartment building where nothing seems to be happening for like a year, and then suddenly in a few weeks it all seems to finish up at once. I see these posts a lot but I always wonder which trades have a lot of women and/or are friendly to women wanting to enter them? Because that’s still an issue in some trades.

They didn't tell me union plumbers can make $1,600 a week with no OT and NO us DEGREE....or that truck drivers can make 6 bands a week if they buy their own truck w/NO DEGREE? OR that traveling welders can make 100k a year with NO DEGREE. they made it seem like college was the only way to be successful. Between now and 2020 there are suppose to be 300,000 more jobs and that’s just for welder. Shit, they’ll pay for you to learn how to do it. I just finished high school and got a untility job in a factory and I have almost no experience. They’re gonna train me for everything plus it has full health benefits. Trades are fucking great. My husband is a welder, and is very very good at it. He got hired by a locksmith company pretty much just by walking in and going “Yes I can weld.” All of the other guys there were great at locksmithing, but none of them were trained welders, and they needed someone who could build custom doors and frames.  They trained him to do lock stuff too, so now he can weld AND pick locks.  The owner of the company, when he handed out Christmas bonuses, looked at him and went “Dude we literally cannot fire you because we’d be screwed so here’s your bonus and also we’re giving you a raise.” Welders are in desperate demand.  Blows kisses to this post.
