Tbh I’m starting to think most of tumblr seriously lack any serious interaction with men, and not only sexual but to a platonic/friendship level.

I don’t mean to attack anyone but how come all this people decided men would think something pervert and rapey? How come people who actually checked were so surprised that men wanted something humanly acceptable and maybe even *gasps* cute?

I am serious in this question: did you ever had male friends? Because this thread to me was the LEAST surprising thing on earth.

In HS, having been a butch lesbian and having had a ton of male friends, the typical sex questions were “hey, can you tell me how to mae her feel good?” or “hey, how do I tell if she likes it?” or “do I sound clingy/pathetic if I want cuddles after?”. Boyfriends worry about their girlfriends pleasure, their happiness and what they think of sex. They do. And when they don’t do much to pleasure them, most of the time is because they are inexperienced. Women do have a problem with communicating their desire, nobody denies that it’s also society’s fault but if you don’t ask stuff you can’t get surprised you don’t get it and out there it’s full of men wanting to do things with respect and to make their girlfriends happy.

Boys are WHOLESOME. As girls are. People are wholesome and nice and vulnerable and in strive for good things for them and others.

And even those who made sexual comments like “blowjobs” or “more boob stuff”…. why is it bad? It’s a NSFW thread???? It’s the space to talk about that. Would you have the same reaction if in their matching thread women said they want their boyfriends to go down on them more? Or if they said they’d like him to touch them in different zones? Would you have complained if women said it of their girlfriends? Then why shaming boys?

Having needs both sexual and emotional is natural, the important is not force them on people who don’t feel like that and these men didn’t (which is why the thread exists in first place).

Men have emotional needs too and pretending they don’t and buying into the “all men think about is sex” and “ah men are all rapey and dirty” is sexism, not only towards men but because it implies that women are purer than them which leads to the HolyMary kinda misoginy that denies women their need to physical pleasure.

Also let’s stop pretending sex is inherently dirty and bad. Sex is fun, as long as it’s consensual.

Arguing, Life, and Logic: pokpok of color @catharticwords If you think a woman can only have an abortion if she was raped, youre saying a woman has to be violated before she has rights to her body L1 desisupremacy Repost from @desisupremacy: "(TW: rape mention, abortion) Here are my two cents on this reasoning that I've been thinking lately. So most anti-choicers have at least accepted that it is acceptable for a rape victim to have an abortion. Regardless of who gets an abortion, you are still preventing the formation of a potential child. So the common anti-choice argument of "killing an innocent baby" fails with this logic. In other words, if an anti-choicer can accept a rape victim getting an abortion, they clearly are not as concerned about the fetus' life as they claim. They are against people with a uterus who CHOSE to have sex. They believe that because a woman (or a person considered as a woman in a cisnormative society) is paying a punishment for consenting to sex when she-he-they get pregnant, and that said pregnant person should be forced to undergo this consequence of consenting to sex. With that said, I call bullshit on most (key word) anti-choicers "concern for the child" and really just link their opinion on abortion to their hatred of female sexuality. They can't argue against the vulnerability of a rape survivor so they accept the survivor getting an abortion, but a person who got pregnant from consensual sex is "selfish and immoral" and should therefore be punished by controlling their bodily autonomy. ~S"

Bad, Love, and Period: CRYBABY Follow I am horrified and saddened by the statements and story told tonight by Timothy Heller. What she and I shared was a close friendship for a period of time. Heller says she did not directly fight her off because at that point she had been broken down, but as we all know silence does not equal consent. Being Alone, Anaconda, and Children: baby-dahlia: Here's the thing about being pro choice that people don't get... You don't have to morally agree with abortion to be pro choice. That's why it's not called pro abortion. It's an understanding that you can't make that choice for someone else and they have full control over that not you. It's pro l'm not the boss of everyone else. This is important. my exact feelings on this subject. This is a good thing to send people who think pro choice means you love abortions and think everyone should get abortions. Pro choice people are not "baby killers," we are not eagerly waiting for the next abortion to happen. Abortions are not fun, and the decision to have an abortion isn't one people look forward to making, no matter how "feminist" they are. Some people agonize over the decision, and for some people, it's an obvious decision to make because they know they cannot (financially or otherwise) raise a child. For a more ~advanced critique~ of this post, there shouldn't be a "moral agreement" with abortion because it's not a one-size-fits-all case. What I mean by that is, you can't say you're against abortions when you don't know the circumstances leading pregnant people to get abortions. It is easy to sit on a high horse and say "I would never have an abortion because I can afford to raise a child healthily, and my mom can help me raise the child while i go to college." What if you have no support, you can barely keep yourself fed and housed despite working 3 jobs, and you know you couldn't raise a child adequately (and don't say adoption because there are currently over 100,000 foster children eligible for & waiting to be adopted in the US alone- and children who are not white, who are disabled, etc get adopted way less than white able bodied children). Or what if you could support a child but you're not ready to? There's a perception that every pregnant person wants to have a child & immediately falls in love with their baby when they give birth; that is not always true. You raising a child you don't want is not a healthy environment for a child to be in. Basically, it's not possible to define a moral line here- if you're ok with abortion if the pregnant person is raped, but not if the person had consensual sex with their partner, then you're still saying "I don't want you to have control over your own body, BUT if you're raped then I guess you can have control this one time." Having the right to decide what YOU do with YOUR OWN BODY should not be conditional.
Being Alone, Anaconda, and Children: baby-dahlia:
Here's the thing about being pro choice
that people don't get...
You don't have to morally agree with

it's not called pro abortion. It's an
understanding that you can't make that
choice for someone else and they have
full control over that not you. It's pro l'm

This is a good thing to send people who think pro choice means you love abortions and think everyone should get abortions. Pro choice people...

In the 1940’s, that’s the kind of thing Good Girls aren’t supposed to do — and she wants people to think she’s a good girl. The woman in the song says outright, multiple times, that what other people will think of her staying is what she’s really concerned about: “the neighbors might think,” “my maiden aunt’s mind is vicious,” “there’s bound to be talk tomorrow.” But she’s having a really good time, and she wants to stay, and so she is excusing her uncharacteristically bold behavior (either to the guy or to herself) by blaming it on the drink — unaware that the drink is actually really weak, maybe not even alcoholic at all. That’s the joke. That is the standard joke that’s going on when a woman in media from the early-to-mid 20th century says “hey, what’s in this drink?” It is not a joke about how she’s drunk and about to be raped. It’s a joke about how she’s perfectly sober and about to have awesome consensual sex and use the drink for plausible deniability because she’s living in a society where women aren’t supposed to have sexual agency.

Basically, the song only makes sense in the context of a society in which women are expected to reject men’s advances whether they actually want to or not, and therefore it’s normal and expected for a lady’s gentleman companion to pressure her despite her protests, because he knows she would have to say that whether or not she meant it, and if she really wants to stay she won’t be able to justify doing so unless he offers her an excuse other than “I’m staying because I want to.” (That’s the main theme of the man’s lines in the song, suggesting excuses she can use when people ask later why she spent the night at his house: it was so cold out, there were no cabs available, he simply insisted because he was concerned about my safety in such awful weather, it was perfectly innocent and definitely not about sex at all!) In this particular case, he’s pretty clearly right, because the woman has a voice, and she’s using it to give all the culturally-understood signals that she actually does want to stay but can’t say so. She states explicitly that she’s resisting because she’s supposed to, not because she wants to: “I ought to say no no no…” She states explicitly that she’s just putting up a token resistance so she’ll be able to claim later that she did what’s expected of a decent woman in this situation: “at least I’m gonna say that I tried.” And at the end of the song they’re singing together, in harmony, because they’re both on the same page and they have been all along.

So it’s not actually a song about rape - in fact it’s a song about a woman finding a way to exercise sexual agency in a patriarchal society designed to stop her from doing so. But it’s also, at the same time, one of the best illustrations of rape culture that pop culture has ever produced. It’s a song about a society where women aren’t allowed to say yes…which happens to mean it’s also a society where women don’t have a clear and unambiguous way to say no.

THANK.
