Africa, Community, and Empire: Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan Looking to Bring The Story of Mansa Musa to Life @balleralert Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan Looking to Bring The Story of Mansa Musa to Life-blogged by @thereal__bee ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ With the success of their first three projects: “Fruitvale Station,” “Creed” and “Black Panther”, super Director Ryan Coogler and Hollywood Star Michael B. Jordan are already teaming up for more projects. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ According to multiple reports, the duo is now looking to start a project centered around the life of Mansa Musa. Both Coogler and Jordan feel it is important to create influential films that reflect the Black community and the contributions that have been made throughout history. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ “You got to tell stories in today, or in the future,” says Jordan. “Or can we go back even further? There’s always one period that people want to go back to, but can we go back to Hannibal? Or Mansa Musa, destroying economies as he traveled? Can we go back to the Egyptians?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Mansa Musa was an influential African ruler in the fourteenth century. He was emperor of the Mali Empire, a land filled with gold, which he casually handed out during his religious expedition to Mecca, ultimately causing economic crises to cities that were unfamiliar with such wealth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ In 1324, Musa became the first Muslim ruler to trek almost four-thousand-miles. During his travels, he encountered rulers of the Middle East and Europe, which helped to put Mali on European maps. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ He helped improve Islamic education and he also brought back government bureaucrats and architects. With the development of mosques and a major university, the city of Timbuktu became more urbanized. Musa ruled for 25 years and during that time, Western Africa was said to be at peace. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ While there is no word on when this project will take off, the duo is already in pre-production for another film titled “Wrong Answer,” about a 2006 standardized testing scandal in Atlanta. The sequel to “Creed” is also on the way.

Af, Ass, and Beard: When you watchin Black Panther wit yo boo and Michael B. Jordan come on the screen Girls who have fetishes for niggas with beards are the worse. My beard don’t connect so I know my limits are short and few. So when a Michael b Jordan head ass nigga pulls up I have no chance. It’s like Yamcha vs Jiren. So I’m on a double date, my bro, his girl, my girl, and I. We went to see Black Panther. Girls ruthless when they be describing they celebrirty crush. They be having no remorse describing features and attributes that We don’t have. I don’t got that much Virtual Currency to level up. While watching the trailers the girls converse about how hype they are for the movie and the fine line of melanated cast memebers. All throughout the movie when ever one of the dudes appeared shirtless like they on a jet beauty magazine they creamed. Michael B came up me and my bro both seen our girls mouth start to water like in the cartoons when you know they bout to fuck a plate of food. The ride home is where things really turned up. We were having a convo when sex comes up. Sharing each other thoughts my bro ask ( the girl I’m in a date with) So you wouldn’t let a dude hit before marriage?” She respond swiftly “Only if he fine af”. I try to throw myself in there like “ you know I’m up next “. Her response “Boy bye, like I said Girl only if he fine I can ride his dick into the sunset”. I can see my bro giving me eye contact through the rear view mirror. It’s hard to drive when you see disappointment in the rear view. A single tear nosedived from eyes down my cheek. I pulled over to the side of the road and let my girl drive the rest of the way. I’m tryna build something and she playing games. Bury me in Wakanda where the land flows with milk and honey and everybody look like me. Every time I play fortnite I land in lonely lodge. A nigga don’t even be tryna play no more I just sit there and let myself get engulfed in the storm.

And let’s get into 31-year-old Oakland native Coogler, who made history for now having the highest-grossing film ever by a black director. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BlackPanther now holds the biggest solo superhero launch of all-time! It also takes the crown for the biggest non-sequel opening weekend, the biggest Friday through Sunday opening weekend for a long holiday debut, the biggest long holiday opening weekend and the biggest pre-summer opening weekend (there’s actually more). The film has already gotten esteemed praise from critics on Rotten Tomatoes who gave the film a 97 percent. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We don’t really have to say much, the movie is a one-of-kind BlackMagic masterpiece.
