Nothing else. No party, no nothing. This is what she wanted,” said Tanya Morton, Dashai's grandmother. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β € With the support of her family and school, Dashai launched the β€œProject Give Back 500” initiative to gather water for residents of the U.S. territory. In just two weeks, Morton reached her goal and managed to collect other non-perishable food items and blankets. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β € β€œIt makes me happy because I can help other people who don’t have what I have,” Morton said. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β € Considering her major success, the 12-year-old plans to continue collecting water and other items through the month of October. Her school has also partnered with Red Cross to get the supplies to Puerto Rico.
